Collections

The Dr. Frank L. Snyder Collection consists of the materials Dr. Snyder and Helen-Louise Snyder (née Davenport) gathered on Governor William Duval. The collection also consists of Dr. Snyder's personal papers, library, computer files, photographs, awards, and plaques.

The collection consists of syndicated newspaper clippings, ephemera, correspondence, brochures, photographs, and articles written about the various places and people of Florida.

Includes an array of family items spanning the history of the Woolslair and Sheppard families, including personal correspondence, photographs, and publications.

The materials comprising the Collins papers range in date from the 1940s to the 1980s, with concentrations in Collins' terms as Governor and materials related to his 1968 unsuccessful Senatorial campaign. The collection consists of 344 manuscript boxes, approximately 200 linear feet of papers which include and are not limited to correspondence files, working papers, reports, campaign research, memoranda and speeches. The collection also includes approximately 35 scrapbooks, memorabilia, and an extensive amount of pictures. Film and recordings from the collection were transferred to the State Library and Archives of Florida for preservation.

Materials largely relate to the history and preservation of the Six Miles Cypress Slough Preservation, including oral histories, advocacy works, and news articles. Oral histories were collected through Dr. Carlson's Research in Public History course, primarily from 2012.
