Abstract Or Scope

This collection is comprised of letters from Walter A. Foelker written to his parents, siblings, and other family members during his time overseas during World War II. Many of the letters discuss everyday life on the Home Front as described by his family. Foelker served in the 44th Infantry Division. In this collection are also photocopies of photographs, a wedding announcement, and an obituary for Foelker.

This collection relates to Walter A. Holle, Second Lieutenant who served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a spotter pilot and served in the European Theater with 5th Army Headquarters. Holle participated in the Battles of Salerno and Anzio. This collection contains a manuscript memoir, document, and Compact Disk containing scans of the materials.

The collection consists of eight watercolor sketches by an unknown artist depicting South American people in the mid 19th century. Items are signed as follows: 1. "Aquatero. Water seller." 2. "Un Indis del Interior. An Indian from the interior." 3. "Vendedor di Chica de Piña. Seller of Pine cheecha." 4. India. Indian." 5. Friar. Frayle." 6. "Indian Vendedor de cochyayny.Indian fruit seller." Watercolors 7 and 8 are not signed with a title.

Collection includes a manuscript by Watson Kinney entitled ""Memoirs of Operations Crossroads"" about time spent with the Navy in the Pacific Theater. It is an in-depth account of the Atom Bomb Testing, ""Operation Crossroads"". Accounts for both of the Bikini Atoll tests. Includes pictures and first-hand account of what happened on those days. Newspaper articles of the time are also included.

Wayne Mixson transcript, 1999

Abstract Or Scope

The collection of Wayne Mixson contains an oral history transcript of an interview provided by the Reichelt Program for Oral History. Mixson, who would later serve as the 39th Governor of Florida, served in the United States Navy from 1942-1946 and participated in the Lighter-Than-Air Project; he worked with a crew in EP Squadron 14, a blimp squadron.
