- Biographical / historical:
The Florida Citrus Exchange is a cooperative organization of citrus growers across the state of Florida. They began in 1909 following a prolonged freeze that destroyed many citrus crops. The goal of the exchange was to promote cooperation between growers for recovery and increased marketing. Over the years, this and other affiliated organizations partnered to conduct research, set standards, and recover from further blights on citrus plants. This unification resulted in new innovations and further range of Florida Citrus sales.
