(video) Excerpt from the Story Corps interview conducted in Pensacola, Florida, with Brigadier General Mike Ferguson and UWF Scholarship Recipient Jessica Simpson. Comments about him and his wife establishing the scholarship at the University of West Florida for students of military families. He reminiscences about why he established the scholarship, family members who served in the military, with Jessica Simpson explaining how the funding helped cover her books and led to internships to further her education and training.

(video) Georgia Adams is a senior, dual major in Print Journalism and International Studies, and Editor of the Voyager. She was the recipient of the Bank of America Scholarship and the Pat Lloyd/Panhandle Tiger Bay Club Scholarship. She speaks here at the April Scholarship Luncheon on how scholarships helped her get her degrees at the University of West Florida, enabled two semesters abroad, and gave her opportunities such as being Editor of the Voyager student newspaper. She was scheduled to speak to the April 16 2010 Scholarship Appreciation Luncheon but was attending the Panhandle Tiger Bay Club meeting to accept their scholarship for a second year. Her talk was recorded and played at the event.

In this video, President Judy Bense speaks about the importance of donors to scholarships to support students and gives statistics on where the University is at in terme of enrollment, Merit Scholars, and others in this April 12, 2010 brief talk that was played at the Student Scholarship Luncheon on April 14, 2010.
