This collection contains materials from Patrick Edwards Clements' time as a journalist in Florida in the 1990s. Articles and columns are written under the pen names Patrick Clements and Patrick Edwards. A small number of articles not written by Clements but which include his research are also present. Also included are 18 audio cassettes of interviews, including those for Clements' radio show "Out in the Open" on WMNF, spanning the 1990s and chronicling crucial issues for the LGBTQ+ community.

Patty Sheehan is an Orlando-based LGBTQ+ activist and politician. She is the first out lesbian to be appointed to the Orlando City Commission and the longest-serving Orlando City Council member. The Patty Sheehan collection is primarily comprised of documents, memorabilia, and photographs related to Sheehan's 2000 Orlando City Commissioner electoral campaign and her participation in Pride Parades, marches, and rallies.
