"The Sausage Tree", bulk 1940-1960

The inscription on the back of the postcard says: The Sausage Tree (Kigelia Pinnata) also sometimes called the Fetish Tree, is a native of tropical Africa. It has rough Pinnate Leaves and flowers which have rather peculiar appearance and hang suspended by long peduncles. These fruits have the appearance of big sausages, and doubtless have given the tree its name.
