The 17th-20th Century Correspondence and Documents consists of letters, documents, and various forms of correspondence relating to notable names and celebrities from between 1618 and 1981.

This collection contains a letter from Captain William H. Chase of Pensacola, Florida, to Lieutenant A. H. Bowman, an Army Engineer, directing Bowman to make a survey of the Pensacola area to find a shorter navigation route. A partial transcript of the letter is also available.

This collection contains materials related to the Civil War in East Florida. There are letters, orders, requisitions, receipts, and other papers related to the Civil War, dating 1856-1864.

Technician Fourth Grade Donald N. Duvick's oral history transcript describes his experiences as a company clerk with the 1265th Engineer Combat Battalion, Company B, of the United States Army. His experiences in Germany as a non-combatant illustrate other roles soldiers were assigned during World War II.

The two manuscript letters, dated 1893, are by George F. Miles, St. Augustine, Florida to Landford Fleming, Esq., C.M.G., Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and refer to matters pertaining to Flagler enterprises. Mr. Miles at that time was general manager and director of the Florida Coast Line Canal and Transportation Company with headquarters at St. Augustine, and Mr. Fleming was a stockholder in the "Boston and Florida Land Company."

This collection consists of materials related to the Florida East Coast Railway and other Flagler enterprises. The papers indicate that they maintained offices in Jacksonville and St. Augustine, Florida. There are job descriptions, blueprints, plans, maps, and permission documents from various government officials to proceed with construction.There is also historical information, such as the corporate history of the Atlantic and East Coast Terminal Company.

The Florida East Coast Railway Company Records consist of 22 ledgers of employee records dating from 1886 to 1950 and 4 payroll ledgers dating from 1909 to 1911, as well as two publications and a file of records regarding the FEC track extension in Dania.

The Florida Railroad Company Papers document the early history of this company during its period of construction from Fernandina to Cedar Key, FL., and includes articles of agreement, articles of copartnership, deeds, and a resolution. It is significant to researchers studying the history of Florida's 19th Century railroads.
