Background
- Scope and content:
This collection contains commercially produced sheet music by various composers. The sheet music includes pieces for voice and instrument. The bulk of the examples date from the early 20th century, with the earliest example published in 1892 and the latest in 1978. Annotations have been made in some pieces. Some pieces also have names of students or instructors.
- Biographical / historical:
It is most likely that these pieces of sheet music were used for teaching/performances by the Music or Choral department faculty. As some works are geared towards primary and secondary school students, it is also possible that these works were used by the Education department. Given the age of many of the examples, this collection may have been with the college since it was located in Sutherland (Palm Harbor).
