Biographical / historical:

Harold E. Bergman was born in 1919 in Milwaukee, WI. In 1943 Harold E. Bergman reported to the 8th Counter Intelligence Corps (CIC), a position which reduced his rank from S/Sgt. Medical to corporal. He was discharged on December 7, 1945, but recalled to active duty effective August 16, 1951. He was assigned training Group B-117, ordered to 430th CIC in Salzburg, Austria. He was relieved from active duty on March 21, 1953, and his commission expired on April 1, 1953. Most of Bergman's time overseas was noncombat. He gives much detail to his surroundings, food, and his multiple tours in Bari, Italy.

After the war, Bergman held a BS from the University of Illinois, and MS from Florida State University, and a law degree from the University of Florida. He had a career as a stock broker in south Florida.
