This is an oral interview transcript relates to Dwight R. Crum regarding his service with the 119th Anti-Aircraft Battalion in Europe during World War II. He was initially drafted into the 95th Coast Artillery Corps in 1941. He served at Pearl Harbor in 1942 before being transferred to the European Theater where he served as a 2nd LT with the 119th Anti-Aircraft Battalion.
- Biographical / historical:
Dwight R. Crum was born on August 23, 1919 and served with the 119th Anti-Aircraft Battalion in Europe. He was drafted into the 95th Coast Artillery Corps in 1941. He served at Pearl Harbor in 1942 before being transferred to the European Theater where he served as a 2nd LT with an anti-aircraft battalion. After VE Day he was sent to Scotland where he participated in bomb disposal before returning to the US. He attended college on the Army GI bill and became an educational administrator. Crum passed away on February 15, 2007 and is buried in South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL along side his wife, Frances Crum.
