- Biographical / historical:
The University of Central Florida University Audit Department has been providing oversight for the conduct and operations of all departments that are considered a part of the university since its transition from Florida Technological University in 1978. It has looked over the efficiency, effectiveness, and adequacy of most departments and programs within the university. University Audit's chief audit executives over the years include Toney Bryant (1984-1987), Barbara Ratti (1988-2005), Amy Voelker (2006-2013), and Robert J. Taft (2014-present), as of June 2021.
University Audit serves as UCF's internal auditor, which provides internal audits and reviews, management consulting and advisory services, investigations of fraud and abuse, follow-up of audit recommendations, evaluation of the processes of risk management and governance, and coordination with external auditors. These audits are reported directly to the president of the University and the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Board of Trustees. The purpose of this reporting structure promotes independence and full consideration of audit recommendations and management action plans.
