Background

Scope and content:

The Omicron Delta Kappa Records collection consists of administrative records for the Florida State University Seminole Circle of ODK. These include meeting minutes, alumni records and lists, various correspondence and programs and photographs from tapping and initiation ceremonies throughout the years. including a initiates register dating to the foundation of the circle. This register contains the signatures of all initiates from 1950 to 2007.

Biographical / historical:

Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society, was founded December 3, 1914 at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia by 15 student and faculty leaders. Omicron Delta Kappa is unique as an honors society in its focus on extracurricular activities as well as academics. Chapters are called Circles, and are located on over 300 campuses throughout the nation.
