Scope and content:

Collection includes the author Francis Robert Goulding (1810-1881) series: biographical material, articles, punlished sources, and unpublished sources. The bulk of material in the Goulding series focuses on Kathleen Arsenault's research into The Young Marooners on the Florida Coast.

The author Lois Lenski (1893-1974) series consists of: biographical material, correspondence/research, published sources, and unpublished material. The bulk of material in the Lenski series evaluates her writings about farm laborers and migrant workers in Florida.

Biographical / historical:

During the mid-1990s, Kathleen Hardee Arsenault conducted research on two authors, Francis Robert Goulding and Lois Lenski. A member of the library faculty since 1981, Arsenault has served as collection development librarian, special collections librarian, interim library director (beginning July 1999), and library director. During the 2001-2002 academic year, she became the first Dean of the Nelson Poynter Memorial Library. A graduate of Wellesley College and Simmons College, she has written articles and scholarly reviews on a variety of Florida topics, including the historical development of children's literature in Florida.
