Biographical / historical:

Robin Ronne (b. 1950) is an economic development professional with a career spanning leadership roles in Florida's public–private development initiatives. He attended Louisiana State University in 1983 and later the University of Oklahoma, where he completed the Economic Development Institute program between 1992 and 1994.

Ronne served as President of the Florida Economic Development Council from 1984 to 1985. From 1991 to 2005, he was Senior Vice President of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce's Committee of 100, where he managed and directed the primary economic development organization for Tampa and Hillsborough County. During his tenure, the organization received international recognition, including being twice named among the top ten economic development groups worldwide by Site Selection magazine and earning honors for top economic development deals, including projects involving Citigroup and JPMorgan Chase. He was also recognized as an inaugural recipient of the CoreNet Global Economic Development Leadership and Accomplishment Award and was named a National/International Newsmaker of the Month by Site Selection.

In addition to his work in Tampa, Ronne later served as Managing Director of the CEO Council for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance from 2008 to 2015. During this period, the organization achieved several distinctions, including the 2012 inaugural Business Facilities Economic Development Achievement Award in Public-Private Partnerships and an Economic Development Excellence Award for large communities in 2013. The region was also recognized among Area Development magazine's "100 Leading Locations" in 2013 and 2015, and the organization was a finalist for the 2014 CoreNet Global H.
