Abstract Or Scope: The collection contains documents related to the festival bearing the name of the late poet, writer, anthropologist, and folklorist Zora Neale Hurston. Since 1990, the Zora Neale Hurston Festival has attracted individuals from across the country in academic and artistic disciplines wishing to celebrate Zora Neale Hurston and African American culture as a whole. The following folders contain the programs from festival years 1990 to 2017. In addition to its annual festival, the Association to Preserve Eatonville, Inc. has expanded its focus and community activities to inform and celebrate the life and work of Zora Neale Hurston and Eatonville.

Covers damages to the University of West Florida due to Hurricane Ivan with interviews with UWF President John Cavanaugh and Provost Sandra Flake, as well as campus safety and student life issues with Deborah Ford, Vice President of Student Affairs, and Ron Hambrick of UWF Environmental Health and Safety. Includes part of Cavanaugh's hurricane address to faculty, staff, and students. The University was closed for three weeks due to damage to campus. 30 minutes.
