The Southwest Florida Map Collection is a format-based collection that compiles maps and map-related ephemera from across our collections. The maps within the collection largely document the social, environmental, and ecological change of Southwest Florida from the early 20th century into the 21st. The collection contains topographic maps, hand-drawn maps, and aerial photography. Of particular note is the selection of material that depicts the Southwest Florida coast south of Tampa Bay.
The Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council Collection offers an extensive array of documents, reports, maps, and materials documenting the development and conservation of the region from the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council. This subseries only includes the oversized maps within the collection. Other, non-map material is available to review in the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council Collection.
