This folder contains a news article from The Tampa Tribune from August 28, 1999, about Bowman's work with the Signal Corps, the Red Cross, and her life after the war. This folder also contains the transcript of Bowman's oral history. Bowman speaks about her childhood and college education, including her work with the Florida Flambeau. She talks about joining the Signal Corps following Pearl Harbor, which moved her to Washington, D.C., and later Arlington, VA, but she found the job repetitive. She then joined the Red Cross and was sent to Calcutta, India, in December of 1943. After India, she returned to her home in Lakeland, FL. She then finished her Masters at the University of Florida and worked in several different careers, including working for a phosphate company, teaching, and social work. There are also corrections included to the original transcript.
