This collection relates to Libby Werbner who served as a teacher with the Manzanar, California Japanese American Internment Camp during World War II. The collection includes an oral history interview transcripts and original photographs. Werbner describes her experience as a third grade teacher, Japanese culture, life in the camp, Army recruitment and the difference between her experiences at an internment camp and what she heard about concentration camps.

The Library-In-Action Collection documents the Library-In-Action initiative started by the Broward County Library in 1975 to address literacy and access in underserved communities. The collection also documents the career of Tyrone Bryant from his tenure at the Langston Hughes Library through his directorship at Library-In-Action, as well as the Sistrunk Historical Festival.

The Library of the Spoken Word collection contains 145 audio cassette tapes including lectures, interviews, conferences, literature, articles, and poems on Caribbean and African history and culture from the Library of the Spoken Word project conducted by the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus in Jamaica.
