This collection consists of materials donated by Kenneth Donovan, founder and editor-in-chief for The Bay Area Crusader, a Tampa tabloid newspaper. Billed as "America's first anti-crime newspaper," the Crusader includes mugshots, reports of crimes, information on missing children, and editorial articles related to activities in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. The newspaper ran from 1992 to 1997 locally and had additional regional versions across the United States.
