Video promotional ad for UWF's Festival on the Green, 2009

Video of the Hawkshaw archaeology dig, May 1985, with commentary by Judy Bense, and interviews and commentary by Mrs. Samuel Carr, Woody Skinner, Alan Gantzhorne, and Eloise Gadus.  The archaeological project covered the area east of downtown Pensacola where Gulf Power was buildilng a new headquarters.  The Hawkshaw area is loosely defined as roughly 100 city blocks, taking its name in the 1920s and 1930s, and bordered by Alcaniz on the west, Gregory Street on the north, and Pensacola Bay to the South and East.  Although British maps indicated the residence of Governor Peter Chester in this area, nothing was found of the British period.  However, an excellent Native American complex from the Deptford era was uncovered.

Produced by Main Street Productions, this is a compilation of photographs and stories about historic homes, buildings, churches, and sites in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, touching on the history of the community, the Florida Chautauqua; it carries no copyright data or date though it does provide the names of the narrator. 31 minutes. Researchers should note that some of the data and businesses mentioned are no longer accurate as of the time of digitization (September 1, 2016).

Dr. Judy Bense from the University of West Florida Department of Archaeology is interviewed on WSRE Television (Pensacola Junior College) on the archaeology program at UWF, by Dennis Printy, PJC Faculty on the program "Florida Land Report."  Included are artifacts and discussion along with film footage and photographs of digs going on at the time in Pensacola.

Peake (d. 1846), and David D. Flowers (d. 1853), and views of Old Christ Church (prior to its restoration to 1871 period).   Included on the video are nature scenes of Spring coming to UWF, and graduation scenes at the UWF Fieldhouse, and other scenes of campus.   Dating of this tape appears to be July 1988 and it appears to be bits and pieces of Nautilus News (UWF student television) segments.
