Chester W. Bailes served as a 4th Grade technician in the US Army 1st Armored Division during World War II. He was first sent to Ireland, before participating in the North Africa invasion, Sicily, and Anzio during the invasion of Italy, where he spent the rest of the war. His collection includes a few letters, publications relating to his unit written after the war, Time, Stars and Stripes, and Yank Magazines, as well as a number of pamphlets and military-published books relating to World War II.

This collection relates to Staff Sergeant Warren R. MacInnes (part of the 834th) in Italy. The box contains letters and photographs sent to him from his wife while he was stationed on the Italian front in Europe. In addition, there are periodicals and pamphlets related to the reintroduction of soldiers from the Italian front back into civilian life Stateside.  This collection also contains documents related to Private Gerald Greenbaum who served with 1560th Service Unit, Medical Section-Station Complement, Camp Atterbury, Indiana.

The primary source materials in this collection provide historical documentation and evidence of selective elections and political campaigns held in Duval County and Jacksonville, Florida. The earliest items are Duval County election records dated 1904; the majority of the materials date from the late twentieth century to the present decade. Printed materials include sample election ballots and guides, voting brochures and pamphlets, and a voting registration receipt card. Artifacts and memorabilia include political campaign buttons and stickers from Jacksonville mayoral, U.S. Senate, and Presidential campaigns.

This small collection documents the history of the Florida extension service program from its beginnings at the Florida State College for Women (FSCW) / Florida State University (FSU) School of Home Economics. The collection includes reference materials about other statewide agricultural extension service agencies and home economics, articles about Florida 4-H Clubs and the history of Florida home demonstration work, and publicity brochures about Florida home demonstration work published by the Florida State Home Demonstration Office at FSU. It is historically significant to researchers studying the cooperative extension movement in Florida and the United States and its relationship to higher education programs.

The College of Social Work files primarily comprise a fairly complete collection of undergraduate student handbooks (some with revised editions) prepared by the Department of Social Work from 1971-1992. The handbooks describe requirements for the B.S. and B.A Degree, list undergraduate courses, and offer information on social work certification, post graduate education, and other student related topics. Several pamphlets describe the Doctoral Program in Social Work, but they only cover scattered years from 1975-1984. In addition, the collection includes other materials published by the Department of Social Work and FSU's Institute of Governmental Research that relate to field instruction, improving the research aspects of the social work curriculum, student research projects, and public welfare programs and administration in Florida's 67 counties.
