This sketch was written by General James Patton Anderson while at his home in Monticello, Florida, recuperating from a wound he had received on the evening of the 31st of August, 1864, while in command of his division at the battle of Jonesboro, Georgia, during the Civil War. The first ten pages of the sketch are written by Anderson himself and the last page contains additional information added by Etta Adair Anderson, his wife, and Margaret Bybee Anderson, their daughter.

These music books belonged to the donor's grandmother, Susan Branch. Both are quarter leather bound books of sheet music. The first has "Susan Branch" on the cover label. The second has "Susan Branch, Live Oak" and is 215 pages in length.

Publications, newsletters, correspondence and textile donated by Martha Tilden nee Taylor. Collection includes items belonging to and about her mother Elizabeth Taylor nee Byrd (FSCW 1926) and her daughter Evelyn Elizabeth Tilden (FSU 1994) as well as correspondence from several FSCW students to her father-in-law, Robert Tilden. The correspondences authored by Dottie or "DB" to Robert Tilden, could possibly be class of 1928 student, Doris Maye Bartlett from Winter Haven, Florida.

Collection of original manuscripts by Teresa Holloway. Also, a small collection of published stories in magazines along with newspaper clippings about Holloway's career.

The set includes examples of early printed leaves, manuscript leaves, as well as a Babylonian clay tablet and cylinder seal, Egyptian papyri, etc. Each leaf is mounted on a black sheet of heavy paper. The leaves have been rehoused from their original black leather, drop-front clamshell cases.

This collection contains research materials used by Martin Dyckman for his 2006 book about former Governor Leroy Collins titled Floridian of His Century. Research materials include speeches from Leroy Collins before he became governor; an interview transcript with Premier Khrushchev during Collins' trip to the Soviet Union; newspaper columns written by Collins for the St. Peterburg Times and transcripts and audio recordings of interviews conducted by Dyckman.

This item appears to be a photocopy of Thomas Brown's missing diary of his trip to England from July 1 through November 2, 1820. On the first page of the photocopy is the following note: "This Diary of Thomas Brown was given to me, Evelyn Cameron Lewis Manning, by my sister, the late Mary Douglass Lewis, who received it from her cousin, Susan Matilda Archer, grand-daughter of Thomas Brown. In the Autobiography of Thomas Brown he noted that he did not know what had become of his diary which he had kept on his trip to England. I appreciate the interest of Bertram H. Groene and the Florida State University Library in having this copy of the Diary of Thomas Brown included in the Papers of Thomas Brown. I am a graduate of the West Florida Seminary, A.B., Class of 1900." The note is signed Evelyn Cameron Lewis Manning and is dated March 16, 1966.

This is a collection of personal letters written by Thomas Burns (76th Air Base Squadron) during World War II. Burns wrote from Hendricks Field, Sebring, Florida to Mary Donnelly in Massachusetts. He mostly wrote of his experiences and activities on the base. While the letters do not deal with Florida or World War II, they do offer a glimpse into courtship during that era and life on an air base.

The Civil War letters by Tom Campbell to Miss H.V. (Hennie) Wood of Cool Well, Virginia, are original holograph letters sent between 1861 and 1862. Each letter is accompanied by a typed transcript of the letter as well as a transparent envelope in which the letters had been stored.
