The Fred Bautz Cigar Label Collection covers a wide range of artistic styles used in cigar advertisement, as well as lithographic techniques used in creating those labels. The proofs themselves have a wide range of color use, ranging from six to twenty colors per proof, and include examples from several lithographic corporations, such as American Lithography, Hepenheimer and Sons, Whitch and Schmidt, George  Harris, Schumaker and Ettlinger, and Haywood S. and V. Lithographers.
