This sick Jewish girl was found in this barracks of Lambach concentration camp in Austria when it was liberated by the 71st Infantry Division, 3rd U.S. Army. These are the conditions which she and 18,000 others were forced to live in. There was no beds or sanitary facilities whatsoever. 40 or 50 died each day: the dead lay where they fell the living prisoners too weak to move the dead and slept with them. German troops can be seen cleaning up the barracks under orders of the American troops., 1945-05-06
