Florida Maps., 1740-1984.
- Scope and content:
Series I consists of various maps of Florida, divided into subseries. The first subseries contains general atlas maps from textual sources, such as the Atlas of the World. The series also includes a subseries for road maps, mostly from the 1970s and 1980s produced by the Champion Map Corporation. Many of the charts, or maps of the waterways around Florida, were created by the U.S. Coastal Survey and topographical land maps include maps created by the U.S. Department of the Interior regarding mineral deposits and reports of the Surveyor General. The final subseries, political maps, are maps of Florida showing distinctions such as county lines and postal regions. (Administrator's note: the items in his series are numbered by their order in the finding aid.)
