Citizens Against River Destruction (CARD) is a recently formed group whose major purpose is preventing the degradation and destruction of the Hillsborough River. The impetus for the formation of this group was the City of Tampa's proposal to mine and dredge a significant portion of the Hillsborough River for the purposes of creation additional water storage capacity. This plan would completely destroy over 100 acres of environmentally sensitive land that is abundant with wildlife and vegetation.
