Kamlet Outgoing Correspondence, 1940-1953
- Scope and content:
Jonas Kamlet often contacted potential clients in order to make them aware of new processes, scientific developments, and other pertinent information; for example, if the Kamlet Laboratory had recently developed a better process for manufacturing particular acids, Kamlet might then contacted potential clients about the matter. Some such companies did indeed become clients of Kamlet's at some time or another, such as the Mathieson Chemical Corp., Mathieson Hydrocarbon Chemical Co., Pittsburgh Coke and Chemical Co., Pittsburgh Agricultural Chemical Co., Emery Industries, the Thiokol Corp., the American Potash and Chemical Corp., Tennessee Products and Chemical Corp., B.F. Goodrich Chemical Co., American Home Products Corp., Miles Laboratories, Publicker Industries, Alrose Chemical Co., Gallowhur Chemical Co., Merck & Co., and others. Kamlet also displayed a yen for information pertinent to his own interests; thus, he often wrote requesting information relevant to his scientific work from corporate entities or individuals.
