President's Office, 1948-2006
- Arrangement:
Series VI holds memoranda, reports, correspondence and photographs, which show the wide range of matters that demand a president's attention. Nine subseries, organized by type of files, facilitate research.
Southern Association of Schools and Colleges files document the accreditation process. Early Policy Statements are the first policies drafted for the new university. Committee Files show the many committees required to organize an institution and how those needs varied over time. Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action files document the concern of the university to ensure equal access to work and education as well as information about the achievements of Carol D. Surles. "Direct Reporting Files" was selected as the title for a group of files relating to individuals who reported directly to the president, such as, legal counsel, auditor, and executive assistant. A few of Dr. Millican's files had clearly been stored separately and the arrangement has been maintained.
