War Department letter describing history and purpose of Purple Heart award, letter from crash survivor Howard J. Adams to Martin's mother regarding his death, letter from Veteran's Administration regarding insurance claims, two copies of Red Cross documents stating the known status of the entire crew of the Sky Queen which note Martin's KIA status, telegram from Martin family to fellow crewman Funk's family regarding the Killed in Action status of their sons, and a response letter from Herbert Funk, Sr. to Martin's mother regarding telegram.
