Photographic Materials, 1904-2002

Scope and content:

23 albums and one scrapbook of photographic materials including color and Black and White snapshots, slides and negatives of circus scenes, performers and other circus-related subjects. Most were taken at circus performances in the Washington D.C. and Annapolis, MD area. Others were taken in Florida, California, England, Australia and Russia. Four albums contain autographed photos of clowns, performers and managers, mostly from the 1950s-60s. Snapshots date from 1939 to 1994. Negatives date from 1962-2002. Scrapbook contains photographs and circus ephemera from 1948-1959. Slides date from 1949-1983.
