Chronological Files, 1982-2004

Scope and content:

This series includes all of the papers accumulated by the Town and Gown Council since its founding in 1982. The folders are named for the president at the time and the dates of her term. The folders from the early years contain mostly correspondence regarding membership; letters inviting people to join and letters declining membership. Almost all of the folders contain the same things: membership directories, by-laws, meeting minutes, treasurer's reports and financial information, papers relating to the Town and Gown scholarship, invitations to and programs for Town and Gown events, and papers related to the planning of those events. Some folders also includes photographs of events, issues of Pegasus, the Alumni Association magazine, newsclippings related to Town and Gown, memorabilia such as an Orlando Loves UCF bumper sticker, brochures about UCF, membership applications, member surveys and attendance, and pin and letterhead designs for the Council. Of special interest are transcripts of interviews with all four of UCF's First Ladies, done by Town and Gown for their event A Tribute to UCF's First Ladies held in 2003.
