14.0031 - Box 1, Folder 001
Scope and content:

This folder contains a ration book for Robert E. Hutchins, 4 letters to Bailes' wife, and a program for a Protestant service for the 1st Armored Division. Three of the letters were written in 1942 when Bailes was stationed in Northern Ireland. These all answer letters sent to him. The first refers to his weight. The second refers to attending church and celebrating his birthday. The third is a bit shorter, mentioning his attendance of a couple shows in Belfast, and details of his pay. The fourth letter was sent from Anzio in April 1944 and mentions attending church and the couple's upcoming wedding anniversary. He also included a VFW application, claiming that by joining the Veterans of Foreign Wars before the war ended, he would gain seniority in the postwar.
