This is a news clipping from Seneca, on August 26, with the headline "Sgt. Frank Watkins Awarded Air Medal." The clipping explains that Watkins's parents had been given an Air Medal with oak leaf cluster on behalf on Watkins, because he was currently a prisoner of war. Watkins had received small shrapnel wounds on his wrist and behind his ear , and the Adjutant General sent a message to his parents, saying "For meritorious achievement in aerial flight while participating in sustained operational activities against the enemy from January to February your son has been granted the Air Medal and one oak leaf cluster."
