Campus Life, 1966-2003
- Scope and content:
This series documents the varied activities that occur in a university. It is divided generally into subseries by the type of activity and alphabetically under, but there are some individual files before the miscellaneous subseries. The first subseries documents the academic work of the University and shows students, faculty and staff studying and researching. The second subseries shows musical and theatrical performances and UCFTV. Images of the making of the Crime Watch program are held in this subseries, and an oversize image of an advertising event at Cypress Gardens is held in the flat file. Theatre classes are illustrated in the previous subseries. The Resources and Services subseries shows images of students using the services available to them and people working inside campus offices. Student activities are shown in the next subseries; fraternities and sororities are highlighted here with particular emphasis on Greek Week. Some individual files follow that highlight specific activities, such as, moving into dorms and political protests. Finally, a subseries of miscellaneous materials holds general scenes of students on campus, images of important University icons, such as, Pegasus and charts providing information about the University. Some Campus Scenes are oversize and may be found in the flat file. Early Campus Scenes shows the first faculty, staff and administration organizing the university from the offices in Church Street. Similar images may be found in Series VI under Church Street Offices.
