Vincent and Leona Mazzoni Letters to Josephine Gaudio, April 1945
- Containers:
- 19.0009 - Box 2, Folder 001
- Scope and content:
These letters came from Leona and Vincent Mazzoni written to their sister, Josephine Gaudio. The majority of these letters asked about home life, writing about the church, money deposits, the heat in the Pacific, and thanking for Easter cards. On April 9, Leona wrote about losing several members of her unit in a plane crash. This really upset her and she described her feelings in her letter to Joe. On April 13, Vincent wrote about President Roosevelt dying and his feelings towards it and the way everyone else reacted. Both of them end their letters with a goodbye and for Joe to give their love to their nephews, Bobby and Jackie, and Joe's husband Carmen.
