Series II contains Annual Reports produced by the State University System, minutes of Board of Regents monthly meetings and the Council of Presidents monthly meetings. Meeting arrangements for Board of Regents meetings held in Orlando may be found in this series. These files include brochures for the hotels where the Regents stayed as well as details of arrangements of the meetings, travel and entertainment. Of particular interest in this series are Dr. Millican's annual and biennial reports to the Board of Regents and the evaluation that he received from them. A proposed plan to economize by eliminating freshman and sophomore classes in 1975 caused local outrage and extensive correspondence on the subject may be found in this series especially letters collected by the Orlando Area Chamber of Commerce and submitted to the Board of Regents and a petition signed by students at Winter Park High School. Finally, photographs of the Regents and Presidents may be found in this series including a portrait of Chester Ferguson, a snapshot of E. T. York with Dr. Millican, and group photographs of the Board of Regents from 1972 and the Council of Presidents circa 1973.
