Scope and content:

Awards include certificates and plaques received by Samuel F. Morrison. Morrison participated in professional and community organizations. These organizations recognized him for his leadership and accomplishments during his career. The Broward County Board of County Commissioners honored Morrison with Samuel F. Morrison Day. Morrison received certificates and plaques from Broward County cities, NAACP Fort Lauderdale Branch, Urban League of Broward County, Sistrunk Historical Festival, and other organizations. He also received awards for his service in library professional organizations such as the Florida Library Association, American Library Association (ALA), and Southeast Florida Library Information Network (SEFLIN). Morrison was awarded the ALA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018 for his contributions to the profession.

This series is organized into two sub-series: Certificates and Plaques. Certificates are arranged alphabetically within. The Plaques sub-series is arranged into three sub-series by plaque type and alphabetically within each series: General, Glass Plaques, and Small Plaques. Oversize certificates and plaques are noted in parentheses in titles and housed in oversize boxes.
