Ephemera

Scope and content:

The Ephemera series includes posters and drawings of AARLCC building designs collected by Samuel F. Morrison. AARLCC related ephemera consists of framed programs, newspaper clippings and photographs documenting the ground breaking ceremony and opening day. Hats in the collection include AARLCC and Chicago Public Library construction helmets to commemorate the groundbreaking of the libraries. Artifacts include keys to City of Miami Beach and Town of Davie, a Christmas ornament from the White House Historical Association, Morrison's desk name plate, a hand fan from the ALA Black Caucus conference, and an AARLCC groundbreaking ceremony miniature shovel. The series also contains two oversized checks, one written to AARLCC and one written to the Samuel F. Morrison Endowment Fund.

The series is arranged alphabetically by title. Due to varied sizes of items, the series was processed physically according to housing needs and intellectually arranged in alphabetical order within the finding aid.
