- Containers:
- 14.0004 - Box 1, Folder 013
- Scope and content:
This folder contains V-mail sent to Harold from some friends back home and also some who were in the military. Those in the military included Staff Sergeant Frank Honn who served in "A" Squadron of the 1030th Army Air Force Base Unit in Santa Monica, California and Major Louis E Roninger who served in the 648th Tank Destroyer Battalion. They both write to check in on Harold's well-being in England and apologize for inconsistent communications. Frank wrote more as he asked Harold to help him with a situation regarding a woman named Frieda who he seemed to be involved with. The other V-mail are from family friends named Betty Lucas, and Marian Lindleaf who both lived in Los Angeles, California at the time. Their letters mostly detail their own lives and news of their families, but they also wrote to Harold about the trip his mother took out there in 1943 to see them for a few weeks.
