V-mail from Relatives to Harold, 1943-1945
- Containers:
- 14.0004 - Box 1, Folder 012
- Scope and content:
This folder contains V-mail to Harold from known relatives who have been mentioned in other family letters and are present in census documents. The earliest letter is from Harold's sister-in-law, Janet, although it is not mentioned which brother she is married to, but she does, however, relay news of his wife and children to him. The next set of V-mail is from his younger brother, Chester (Chet), who served in the 15th Air Force possibly as a pilot and is mentioned often in other family letters. He wrote to Harold about his experience training in San Antonio, Texas and his injuries that delayed his deployment. Harold's older sister Lucille also sent V-mail to him while he was stationed in England. Her letters are mostly focused on her move out to California and the progress of her family. The last set of V-mail is from Harold's sister-in-law, Abby, who is married to his oldest brother Francis. Besides expressing concern over Harold, she wrote about a man, possibly her son, named Fidelis and his deployment in the South Pacific.
