- Scope and content:
In this folder, there are letters Blunk sent to other members of his family, such as his son, Donald, and his mother. The October 27th letter to his mother includes family photos that were sent to him, as well as a newspaper clipping from the Sentinel or the County News about his work in England repairing a damaged B-17 for the 8th Air Force. The picture used for the newspaper article was sent to his wife and referenced in his April 30, 1945 letter. In the letter, he questions her about his brother Chester and his progress in the Army Air Forces as he had not heard from him or his wife in a while. Blunk also sent his mother a V-mail cartoon wishing her a merry Christmas. To Donald, he sent a birthday letter with a large picture of a bulldog head wearing a pilot's cap with the words "Fight'n Fifth above it, and a V-mail telling him he misses him very much.
