Photographs, 1941-1943
- Containers:
- 12.0025-Box 1, Folder 03
- Scope and content:
This folder contains two photographs and a loose paper acting as a label. One photo is a full portrait of Bail, on leave at home in Jacksonville before leaving for England in 1943. The other photo is a composite of headshots of 10 servicemen, a flight crew. On the back is written that this crew (including Bail) was shot down and escaped through the French Underground, and a note to see the letter of their visit with Vincent in Miami (this letter is in Folder 7). The loose paper is a list of a flight crew and the addresses of next of kin. Bail is included, and in pen is written "Sonny's crew". It is unclear whether some or all of the rest of these crew members are the same as those in the crew photograph, and Bail makes no mention of being shot down and escaping in his letters. The photo of Bail is confirmed as the middle-left, as the same portrait was included in the Jacksonville newspaper clipping
