Tarpon Performances and Shows, 1932-1994

Scope and content:

This series contains information about the Lifesaving Corps exhibitions between 1932 and 1936 as well as various Tarpon performances and shows from 1937 to 1994. The files contain performance programs from all years between 1932 and 1994, except for the 1944 Mermaid Fantasy show. Materials are filed by show and contain programs, scripts, posters, publicity, notes, and choreography that exhibit the show development process as well as the details of each individual performance. Many of the items within folders retain their original order as the Tarpons organized them and some files contain letters from the Tarpon member that submitted the material(s) for the collection. Shows are arranged alphabetically. Due to space concerns, duplicate copies of programs (in excess of two) were removed from the collection and are stored elsewhere in HPUA.
