This folder includes documents regarding the proposal and the status updates of US Merchant marine World War II combat veterans and House Bill Hr23 in the 4th District of Indiana. There are frequent documentation updates of the Just Compensation Committee. There are also documents concerning the location of National Maritime Day activities. There is a report on the hearing before the house committee of veteran affairs. There are letters from the United States senate regarding the contact of senator Orrin G. Hatch. There is an AMMV Convention Speech from May 14, 2010. There is a letter from Chairman Daniel K. Akaka regarding the passing of Bill HR23 without funding meaning that the new entitlement will not be paid until further use. There is a copy of American Merchant Marine Magazine. There is a Letter from the two co-chairmen Henry Gemert and Ian Allison regarding the failure of the bill and how political maneuvering would need to be done.
