University Relations, 1964-1978
- Scope and content:
Material in this series contains information about Florida Technological University's interaction with the community. Several folders contain information about other universities across Florida as FTU was in its early years. Some notable items in these folders include communication between other universities and FTU; brochures as reference for FTU; comparable enrollment numbers; evaluations of programs; and, handbooks. Other folders pertain to community relations that FTU had with such organizations as Martin Marietta, National Science Foundation, NASA, and the Air Force. There is a carbon copy of a thank you letter written from Gambrell to NASA for being invited to witness the launch of Apollo 7, in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration folder. A memorandum in the University of South Florida folder from February 1972, invites FTU students to play basketball against USF in hopes that this will be an annual event.
