This folder includes letters from Laura Julia Chapman to Albert Fuhrman from February 1942 discussing her experiences as a teacher, defense activity in Southern California, observations regarding recent military victories by the Japanese, and and news of friends. The folder contains a February 17, 1942 letter from Chapman to Fuhrman that includes sketches of several of her students, including Dorthy Ortiz ("One of my Mexicans") Lucy Cornejo ("another of my Mexicans--a very sweet girl"). and Miles Nicks ("What a Pill"). The file also includes several published cartoons clipped out from trade magazines that Chapman sent to Fuhrman.
