Research and Personal Interests, 1982-2001.

Scope and content:

This series holds artwork, model research, assembly manuals, correspondence, as well as materials pertaining to the famous highway, Route 66. Brochures and pamphlets of the many archeology and preservation societies that Lodwick belonged to can be found here as well as memorabilia that contains personal mementos from his son, Michael. A portrait of Lodwick as well as photographs of his son can be found here as well as some original artwork. The Route 66 materials make up the majority of this series, consisting mostly of publications, maps, and memorabilia. While the Route 66 materials are considered a personal collection of Lodwick's, it is likely he used the materials as research for his design work. Ephemera for Route 66 includes road bingo game boards as well as a stencil used to sketch Route 66 signage. Correspondence between Lodwick and members of the Route 66 Preservation Association can be found here as well as complete collection of collectable postcards, pamphlets, and brochures created and printed by the Route 66 artist known as Waldemire.
