Scope and content:

Bikini Kill was a Washington-based punk band known for their aggressive brand of musical feminism, and for their central role in the Riot Grrrl movement. The all-girl band was the first of its kind in the male-dominated 90's punk scene, and had a wide influence on the feminist punk/zine movement even after they disbanded in 1997.
