Sea Venture and Northwest Waters Virtual Whale Exhibit, 1998-2004.
- Scope and content:
This series holds contracts, correspondence, drawings and photographs that document George Millay's creation of a system to transport viewers into the center of a doughnut-shaped aquarium. It shows some of the effort involved in creating a new project from acquiring the patent to establishing a company and beginning to market the product. Non-disclosure agreements were necessary to ensure that companies employed to work on the project did not reveal its details. Patent materials were apparently collected by the lawyer engaged to submit the patent and were returned to Millay once the patent had been granted. The advertising CD includes a section on the North West Waters Virtual Whale Exhibit.
