Railroad History, 1830-1890

Scope and content:

Series consists of information on the beginning of railroad history and the introduction of railroads to American society. Also includes publications, photographs, railroad administration, and Turner's research and correspondence. The first part of the series, publications, is arranged by publication type and chronologically therein, followed by photographs. The third part of the series, railroad administration, is organized chronologically, as are Turner's personal research documents. Oversized items are in Box 14.
